After stopping the ULA attack on the Prince of Wales and returning home, Jack Ryan, Sr. is warned to take safety precautions by the FBI in case they come back for revenge. One of the things he does is start carrying a Browning Hi-Power on his body, training with it every day with Sergeant Beckenridge.
Later, at the conclusion of the attack on his home, after exhausting all the ammunition in the Uzi he took from the terrorists, Jack switches to his pistol. He almost executes Sean Miller by inserting it into his mouth, but he forgets to cock it. Beckenridge is able to talk him down.
Rainbow Six
Alistair Stanley carries one. On United Flight 920, he accidentally stores it in his overhead compartment like John Clark does with his pistol, so they have to rely on Clark's subterfuge and Domingo Chavez, who kept his pistol on his body. Eventually Alistair manages to grab his pistol and hits the second terrorist with it.
