Cari Fast
Cari Fast is a character that appears in the novel, True Faith and Allegiance.
Biography
An environmentalist, Cari worked as a high-level researcher at the Google AI quantum labs in Mountain View California. She later met a fellow researcher at the lab named Chris Fast. The two of them married and recited their wedding vows under "Stan", a cast of a T-rex skeleton on the Googleplex campus. The two of them did not own a car and frequently rode bikes and used ride sharing in order to reduce their carbon footprint.
On October 24th, 2011, Cari, Chris, and their two dogs were picked up by an Uber driver at their home. Cari doubled checked the information on the app to ensure they were with the correct driver. Unfortunately, the driver proved to be fake as Cari's Uber app had been hacked. Cari and her husband were then killed. Their bodies were brought into their home and their deaths were made to look like the result of a satanic ritual. She and her husband were later found by police after their company reported them missing after they failed to report to work without notice. With their deaths, their thirty million dollar fortune was left to a no-kill animal shelter in San Francisco.
