Homer Johnston's Rifle

Homer Johnston's Rifle is a weapon in the Ryanverse.

Background

A skilled armorer, Homer Johnston had the same technicians who made sniper rifles for the U.S. Secret Service custom build this rifle for him at some point before he joined Rainbow.

Characteristics

It is a custom bolt-action sniper rifle, featuring a Remington match-quality reciever, a select-grade Hart barrel, and a Leupold ten-power Gold Ring telescopic sight, attached to an ugly Kevlar stock, as it was chemically inert, unlike a prettier wood stock. It fired in 7-mm Remington Magnum caliber,only using Sierra 175-grain hollow -point boat-tailed match bullets, loaded with 63.5 grains of IMR 4350 smokeless powder, every one hand-loaded by Homer himself. The rounds developed a high level of heat, burning up the barrel faster than he would've liked.

History

Rainbow Six

Homer Johnston used this weapon during his time as Team 2's sniper. During the attack on Ostermann's schloss, he killed some of the terrorists with it.

Later at the attack on World Park, he first killed Josè, then slowly killed Anton with a shot to his gut in retaliation for killing a hostage.

Homer loved his rifle, though surprisingly he never named it.

Dead or Alive

For some reason, he no longer used it by the events of this book, instead using a new, standard issue rifle.
