Sarah Porter
Sarah Porter is a character mentioned in the novel, Oath of Office. She is the wife of the Cameroon Deputy Chief of Mission Rod Porter.
Biography
Sarah is the wife of Rod Porter, a foreign career officer who started his career in 1990. Sarah accompanied Rod on each assignment. Rod's last assignment was in Croatia where he ran the political section. Sarah loved the the many amenities the country had to offer such as the food, the Adriatic, lack of cobras, etc. Rod was later promoted to be the Cameroon Deputy Chief of Mission. Sarah personally believed Cameroon to be a downgrade from Croatia but understood that it came with his job.
Oath of Office
In 2011, Sarah, who lived near the U.S. Embassy, was present when the Cameroonian government laid the Embassy under siege in order to arrest an opposition leader, Mbida.
