The original books
Though a supporting character in many Jack Ryan novels, John Kelly, later known as "John Clark", has been featured in some of Tom Clancy's works more heavily than others. Without Remorse -- the novel on which the Amazon's original film is very loosely based -- is his origin story, released long after the character's introduciton in one of the earlier Ryan novels, The Cardinal of the Kremlin. He's also a major player in Rainbow Six, and therefore the video game series based upon those novels. But he's had some other great appearances along the way. Take a gander at our "must-read" list!
