Uzi

The Uzi is a weapon used in the Ryanverse.

Background

The Uzi is an Israeli submachine gun, favored for urban fighting due to it's light and compact nature. The Czechs attempted to copy it but met with financial failure. A factory in Singapore had recently begun producing them as of Patriot Games and sold them on the black market.

Characteristics

The Uzi was made of stamped steel, giving it the impression of looking cheap, however it was not a cheap weapon. The gun barrel was made of more corrosion-resistant steel.

History

Patriot Games

An Uzi was used by Sean Miller in an attempt to gun down a pregnant Cathy Ryan and her daughter Sally Ryan in their Porsche on the highway. This failed due to Cathy slamming on the brakes a second early, causing the rounds to miss her body and go into the car, shattering the windshield and damaging the engine. One bullet passed through her arm without doing major damage. After the Porsche had crashed, during a police chase Sean used it to gun down a Maryland State Trooper in his car, killing him and severely damaging the vehicle.

This gun was later disposed of by dropping it in a pool of chemically active water in a quarry, but was later fished up by a 9 year old boy and presented to the FBI. They were able to clean it enough to fire it, and comparing bullets they fired to bullets found in the Porsche, they were able to prove it was the same gun used. However, the time in the water had washed away any fingerprints on it.
