Walther WA2000

The Walther WA2000 is a weapon in the Ryanverse.

Characteristics

It is a semi-automatic sniper rifle, chambered for the .300 Winchester Magnum. It had a telescopic sight and laser range finder used to calibrate it.

History

Rainbow Six

Dieter Weber used one while he was a sniper for Rainbow. During the terrorist attack on Ostermann's schloss, he used it to kill some terrorists. Later, when Action Directe remnants held hostages at World Park to get Carlos the Jackal freed, Dieter fired the weapon to disarm one before Johnston shot him in the gut, killing him slowly and painfully in retaliation for his execution of a little girl hostage.

Johnston and Weber often disagreed on Weber's use of the gun, with Johnston insisting only a bolt-action rifle could be a proper sniper rifle, and that his rifle's faster bullets were better, while Weber insisted his rifle having a better rate of fire was important. On the firing range however, the difference in accuracy was negligible, leading to Johnston eventually giving up.
