Karl Haider is an Austrian Rainbow operative that appears in Tom Clancy's Rainbow Six.

Biography

Karl Haider was born in Graz, Austria on September 10, 1975. His father is a petroleum distributor and his mother was a homemaker. Additionally, he has a brother and sister. He joined the regular Austrian Army in 1992 and was later transferred to the GEK Cobra in 1996. During this time, he trained with both the German GSG 9 and Israel Sayeret Mat'Kal. He also participated in the GEK Cobra raid on Deissenmayr GmbH headquarters in Vienna in 1998 and was credited with single-handedly saving the lives of seven hostages. He married in 1999.

Psychological Profile

Karl is unstoppable in combat situations. He is extremely aggressive and will not hesitate to use whatever methods are necessary to complete his mission. He is fanatical about protecting the lives of hostages and innocent bystanders, even to the point of jeopardizing his own life. Off the job, he is soft-spoken and private, but has an iron determination.
