Nikolay Zelin
Nikolay Zelin is a character mentioned in the film, Without Remorse. He is the director of the Federal Security Service.
Biography
Nikolay Zelin served as the director of the Federal Security Service in the late 2010s. In late 2018, Nikolay's son, Yuri Zelin, was killed by a team of Navy SEALs at a Russian arms depot in Aleppo, Syria. This prompted Nikolay to send an FSB team to assassinate members of the SEAL team. Unbeknownst to Nikolay, members of the team such as Viktor Rykov were deep cover CIA operatives. This caused Rykov to kill a team member at the home of John Kelly with the intention of the body being discovered to increase tensions between the United States and Russia. This was part of Secretary of Defense Thomas Clay's plan to instigate a war between both countries to boost America's economy.
