History
Debt of Honor
The USS Asheville was assigned to the Pacific Fleet, and spending it's time tracking whales after Roger Durling drew down the military.
It was sent out to a training exercise concurrent with OPERATION: DATELINE PARTNERS, training with a Japanese submarine. However, it was betrayed, as during the exercise the Japanese fired a live torpedo and sank the ship, killing all 125 crewmembers.
Point of Contact
Despite this, it appeared again years later in the Sea of Japan, firing an underwater drone from it's torpedo tube to observe a North Korean submarine missile launch.
