Vladimir Vasilev, is a character that appears in the novel, Line of Sight.
Biography
Vasilev was the the leader of a secret crime network called the Iron Syndicate. In 2011, he sent Elena Iliescu to assassinate Campus agent Jack Ryan, Jr. and ex-senator Weston Rhodes as revenge for the death of his colleague Tervel Zvezdev. While Rhodes is later killed in his prison cell, Ryan manages survives Iliescu's assassination attempt. For her failure, Vasilev silenced her by inducing a heart attack. The Campus later located Vasilev in Paris, France where he was recuperating from prostate cancer and eliminated him. Vasilev was later suceeded by The Czech as the Leader of the Iron Syndicate.
