Oliver Tyler
Oliver Wendell "Skip" Tyler is a character that appears in The Hunt for Red October novel and the film of the same name.
Biography
Tyler is a former naval officer in the US Navy. After leaving the military, he became an instructor at the United States Naval Academy in Annapolis, Maryland. He also starting doing consulting work for the Navy. In 1984, Tyler was tasked by Jack Ryan with identifying the construction variations in Red October. This eventually led Tyler to determine that these variations were housing a new, silent propulsion system.
