Biography

In 2013 Dimitri Lemkov worked as Viktor Cherevin's head of security at his company offices in Moscow, Russia. Lemkov was aware of Cherevin's orders by the Russian Interior Minister Sergey Sorokin to collapse the global economy by selling the billions of dollars of stock he had poured into the Chinese and Japanese economies following a planned terrorist attack on Wall Street. Before these plans could be carried out, however, CIA analyst Jack Ryan discovered Cherevin's hidden accounts as well as billions of dollars possessed by Russian organizations, many of which owned by Cherevin, having disappeared. This led Ryan to travel to Moscow to investigate, using his undercover job at a Wall Street bank as a cover to perform an audit. Cherevin orders Lemkov to have a member of his security detail, Embee Deng, meet Ryan at the airport and escort him to his hotel to kill him. Ryan survives the attempt and kills Deng in self-defense.

The next day during Ryan's meeting with Cherevin, Cherevin explains that the problem company and all of its assets have been sold, thus preventing Ryan's audit. Lemkov then enters the room to escort Ryan off of the premisses. Not want to leave empty handed, Ryan proposes that he treat Cherevin to dinner at the restaurant across the street to make up for wasting Cherevin's time, to which Cherevin accepts.

At dinner, CIA Agent Amy Chang monitored Lemkov's whereabouts and confirmed that he had left this facility. This allowed Ryan to infiltrate Cherevin's office after excusing himself from dinner and obtaining Cherevin's keycard. While copying Cherevin's hard drive to a USB, Lemkov is alerted of the security breach and races back to Cherevin's office. He arrives as Ryan departs through Cherevin's private elevator. He then finds Ryan as he reunites with his fiancee Cathy Muller and Cherevin and orders him to be searched. Lemkov and his men do not find anything on Ryan as he had passed the USB to Amy Chang moments earlier. Additionally, Lemkov confirms that Cherevin had his keycard on his person as Chang had also returned it after receiving the USB. Suspicious of Ryan and Muller, Cherevin orders Lemkov to have them followed.

Afterwards, Lemkov and Cherevin reviewed the security footage and confirmed that Ryan had stolen a copy of his hard drive. Lemkov then chastised Cherevin, stating that his weakness for women and vodka allowed Ryan and Muller to play him and that his son would be ashamed of him. Enraged at Lemkov's comments, Cherevin promptly shot him multiple times in the chest, killing him.
