Captain Benjamin "Benny" Zadin is a character that appears in the novel, The Sum of All Fears.
Biography
The younger brother of Israeli Air Force fighter pilot Mordecai Zadin, Benny worked as an Israeli National Police officer. In 1991, he was in command of a demonstration at the Temple Mount in Jerusalem. Embittered by his personal problems, he killed an unarmed demonstrator named Hashimi Moussa that was present. Benny was ultimately committed to a mental institution after suffering a mental breakdown from his actions.
