Marcus Cabot
Marcus Cabot is a character that appears in several Tom Clancy novels. He served as the DCI under President Robert Fowler's administration.
Biography
The Sum of All Fears
In 1990, Marcus Cabot was the DCI of the CIA. He often butted heads with DDCI Jack Ryan, leaving much of his work to him. Cabot is depicted throughout the novel as being lazy and incompetent, often folding before the whims of almost everyone he talks to. Cabot goes into the field to interview Soviet double agent Oleg Yurelivich Lyalin, and is still on the flight back to North America during the nuclear explosion of Denver and is not present during the subsequent crisis.
