Ismael Qati is the main antagonist of the novel, The Sum of All Fears. An experienced field commander for the Popular Front for the Liberation of Palestine (PFLP), he was the mastermind behind the 1991 bombing of the Denver Super Bowl. He was driven to carry out his mission due to suffering from terminal cancer. After being captured in Mexico City by John Clark, he was later extradited to Saudi Arabia and executed.
