Orlov is a character that appears in the film, The Sum of All Fears.
Biography
In 2002, Orlov was a mathematician with an expertise in geometry of high explosives inside a fission bomb worked at the top Russian nuclear weapons facility in the country. In September 2002, Orlov and coworkers Spassky and Milinov were hired by Derek Olson to reconstruct a nuclear bomb that had been recovered from Golan Heights, Syria. The bomb was reconstructed by them at an old Soviet military base in Ukraine. Afterwards, Olson killed Orlov and his coworkers and took the bomb to ship it to Baltimore, Maryland. Their bodies were later found by John Clark who had previously taken reconnaissance of the location while Spassky was speaking outside with Olson.
